Meet Jamie Wagler
"Education has never just been my career—it has been my life's work."
As an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), educational consultant, college professor, school council chair, and parent, I have dedicated my career to supporting children, families, educators, and school communities.
From the classroom to before-and-after school programs, from child care leadership to post-secondary education, I have spent more than 15 years working alongside learners of all ages and the professionals who support them. Those experiences have given me a unique perspective on how children grow, how families partner with schools, and how strong educational systems help communities thrive.
Today, I continue to teach future educators at the college level while working with school boards, municipalities, child care organizations, and educational leaders across Ontario to strengthen learning environments and support student success.
Throughout every role, one belief has remained constant:
Children deserve to be at the heart of every decision we make.
My Leadership Philosophy
I believe students thrive when schools, families, educators, and communities work together.
My leadership is rooted in collaboration, respect, and lifelong learning. I believe strong governance begins with listening, asking thoughtful questions, considering evidence, and making decisions that reflect the best interests of students.
My background in child development and inclusive education has shaped the way I approach leadership. I believe every learner deserves equitable opportunities to succeed, and that our schools are strongest when they recognize and respond to the diverse strengths, needs, and experiences of every student.
Community Matters
Beyond my professional work, I am deeply committed to serving our community.
As Chair of the Anne Hathaway Public School Council, I have worked alongside families, school staff, and community partners to support initiatives that strengthen school communities and enhance student experiences. I have also volunteered my time with local organizations, youth programs, and educational initiatives because I believe meaningful change happens when communities work together.
Whether speaking to educators across Ontario, volunteering in local schools, or working directly with children and families, my focus has always been the same:
Helping every child feel seen, valued, and supported.

Let’s Build Strong Schools Together
The best ideas come from listening.
Whether you’re a student, guardian, caregiver, parent, educator, or community member, I would love the opportunity to hear your perspective.
Together, we can continue building schools where every learner has the opportunity to succeed.
